Stepping out of your comfort zone can be one of the most freeing and exhilarating experiences and it can also be a life changer.
The truth is, Stepping out of your comfort zone can be a very uncomfortable, scary and stressful experience. But, it might just be exactly what you need to spice things up and to help you to step into a world of all new opportunities.
It’s very likely that you won’t step out of your comfort zone until you are either totally bored and exhausted or tired of the same routine. You might be fed up with your job or a relationship. When you’re “comfort” becomes uncomfortable, meaning you just can’t stand the same old things any more.
A few years ago I was in Miami, FL during Art Basel. I was walking in the Wynwood Arts District where there are the most amazing vibrant murals painted all over the outside of the buildings. I came across an artist, Renda Writer, who writes and paints thought provoking statements, some written hundreds of times on buildings and walls. There was one that REALLY struck me and got me thinking about my own life: “Your Comfort Zone Will Kill You.” His simply hand painted murals and paintings were some of my favorites in Wynwood that year and really left a lasting impression on me!
Stepping into your new zone can be as simple as trying a new recipe, going to a new exercise class, or changing your daily routine. Or, it can be something big, for example; making a career or job change, moving to another state or country, investing in something that you’ve been dreaming about or better yet, investing in something you’ve always wanted for yourself.
“When you become comfortable with uncertainty, infinite possibilities open up in your life.” Eckhart Tolle
“At the end of your comfort zone is where adventure begins and life dances with trembling joy.” – Debasish Mridha
“Are you really happy or just comfortable?” – Your Tango
“Do something every day that scares you.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
“The hardest thing to do is leaving your comfort zone. But you have to let go of the life you’re familiar with and take the risk to live the life you dream about.” -T. Arigo
Amazing things can happen when you step outside of what you’re used to. It will bring new energy and open you to new possibilities and growth. It will lift your spirits, open you to newfound freedom, and it will empower you!
